I can definitely foresee having hurting ears after listening to this for a while. Maybe crop the highs a little bit. The eclectic nature of the song really works, I think having some smooth bass tones might help a bit, the compressed bass doesn't push hard enough imo. Love it when the pad comes in at 2:30. Solid work.

Thanks a lot

Dude this is good. Very exciting to listen to, lots of variety to keep it interesting and still has some consistency. I absolutely love the breakdown sections and the way you bring it back to the dubstep sections. Sometimes I want to make a song like this but for some reason I can't really get it right, but you nailed this.

One thing I might change is have a pad through at some of the more sparse sections to give it a little more body.

DeadOnTheInside responds:

That is a really good idea, thank you! I didn't really think about adding a pad, but in the next my tracks I'll actually consider it. Also, the fact that you find this interesting and exciting is kinda strange to me, but I don't know why exactly.
And if you want to "get it right" ( whatever that means), then I suggest just making an interesting sound ( sound design tutorials recommended- how the hell so you think I made these basses?) that sorta inspires you or is relevant to a certain genre, or just listen to some music.
I wish you good luck with YOUR work

Feels like I'm falling into a trance here. The combination of the rough experimental sounds plays well with the very smooth bell tones. I'll disagree with @Noisysundae here though, I feel like the "empty" sections are an important part of the song and lend it some character, as well as making the other sections impactful. Beautiful piece!

Edit: @Noisysundae contacted me to explain what he meant by the emptiness. I'll agree with him now that having some more supporting instrumental voices could help elevate this. I still think it stands well as it is, however.

Thanks for your thoughts :)

Oh wow, love this. Was loving the piano intro and did not expect what came next. Really reminds me of legend of heroes music which are some of my favorite songs. There is definitely a different quality to this though and the way it tells a complicated story. I love the combination of traditional sounds with the "raw" sounds from 3x Osc.

I could definitely see this in an anime or game as the main theme music. Top notch music!

Noisysundae responds:

"Thank you. I was trying to make the acoustic instruments sound as realistic as I can since I've mastered all the tools used in this piece (listed in the credits). Gotta check the Legend of Heroes' OSTs, though." — The Manager

Reminds me a lot about the chiptune music I used to make. Half of the song is just the same notes over and over :( If the rest of the song was as lively as it becomes near the minute mark it would be better! I especially like the part at 1:33!

My other suggestion, is to make your percussion with some white noise, it adds a LOT to the chiptune feel.

JustDen responds:

It's a good idea!

the build up is dope. I feel like if you did some full pitch shifting in this song especially before the breakdown it would be siiiick. love it.

CunVietnam responds:

Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep that advice in mind, and thanks so much for liking it >w<

I like it, it almost sounds like a cross between music from terraria and the sims. I feel like this would be a solid choice for some background music. You nailed it!

iElectrocat responds:

Thank you so much :)

I think the melody needs some work to take it to the next level. Song structure so far is solid and everything is there to make a great song. It gets a little repetitive near the end, a bridge section or something to add to the overall progression and break up what you have would be nice. A little more length would also be nice.

NOmki responds:

Ty for the feedback, and yeah i made this in like 3h and didnt put much effort, but i might work on it a bit more before i put it on youtube

melody and rhythm is solid but there is waaay too much compression. Master it better and you've got a dope song. Some more length would be nice too.

CDJeremy responds:

Thx :D

Oh great song, wow, build is perfect and after 2 minutes it just gets great. I absolutely love that sax, Wow what a great sound.love the break at 4:30 haha! That classic Ectisity buildup and wow 5+ is just perfect. And that pitch shift!! Perfectly executed! Great job man!

Only thing I can say is that there is something a little off with those vocalized notes in the beginning, @:17 I'd try and get something more natural like a lalala. @ 2:19 I think it'd be so much more powerful to go for a la sound! In some parts it works well though, where the vocals are playing more of a supporting role.

Good Luck in the contest! I'm rooting for you!

EctiBot responds:

Thanks No-Stereo :D. The vocal library is called "aah" so sadly it doesn't have the extra "l" :(. I think it would have been a lot better if I had spent more time making the choir and vocals sound more realistic, but I'll work on that til next time :). Thanks for the review :D
